From Victoriaville (Quebec) in Canada, Sortie 210 is a big-band type group composed of 19 musicians. The band was formed in 1992 by a group of passionate musicians whose objectives were to have fun and express themselves while performing quality musical arrangements.
As most of the band members have to drive (up to 3 hours for some) to get to the Saturday morning rehearsal, the band was named after the exit number on the highway leading to Victoriaville, which is #210 (“sortie” being French for “exit”).
Winner of many prizes and honors in various festivals and contests, Sortie 210 has performed in more than 150 shows and toured Europe three times. The band also gave well-received performances at the Montreal Jazz Festival (Canada), Jazz a Vienne (France) Jazz parade in Fribourg (Switzerland) and the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland).
